Vouchers — discount codes for your shop
Vouchers is a paid add-on that lets you run discount codes — a percentage or a fixed amount off — with an optional usage cap and expiry. Shoppers enter the code at your checkout and it comes off their total.
Vouchers is a paid add-on (a small monthly subscription) that lets you create discount codes shoppers redeem at your storefront checkout. You'll find it under Manage → Vouchers.
Codes only ever work at your shop — a code you create can't be used anywhere else on LocalFor.Me.
Subscribe
- Go to Manage → Vouchers.
- You'll see the monthly price and what's included. Click Subscribe to Vouchers.
- You're taken to Stripe to enter your card securely. Once payment confirms, the codes page unlocks.
You can open Manage billing any time to update your card or cancel. If the subscription lapses, your codes simply stop redeeming until you resubscribe.
Create a code
On the codes page, fill in the New code form:
- Discount type — Percentage off (e.g. 10%) or Amount off (e.g. £5.00).
- Code — leave blank to auto-generate a code like
SAVE7QK2M, or type your own (e.g.WELCOME10). Codes are case-insensitive. - Total uses (optional) — cap how many times the code can be redeemed in total. Leave blank for unlimited.
- Expires (optional) — the last day the code works.
Click Create code. It appears in the table below straight away.
Manage your codes
Each code in the table shows its discount, how many times it's been used (and the cap, if any), its expiry, and a status:
- Active — live and redeemable.
- Paused — you've turned it off; it won't redeem until you resume it.
- Expired / Used up — past its date or its usage cap.
Use Pause/Resume to switch a code on or off without deleting it, or Delete to remove it for good. Deleting is safe for your records — past orders keep the code they used.
How shoppers redeem
On the basket page, the shopper enters the code in Discount code and taps Apply. They see the discount and their new total before checking out, and pay the discounted amount.
What it costs you
The platform commission is charged on the discounted total — the amount the shopper actually pays — so you're never charged commission on money you didn't take. The discount itself comes off your sale (you fund the offer).
Tip: a code that would reduce an order to £0 (or to a few pence) is taken as a free order — no card payment is needed and the order still lands in your orders to fulfil.
