"Tutorial: sell one product in several sizes (price tiers)"
A worked example using price tiers — list one product in Small, Medium and Large with different prices, descriptions, lead-time notes and minimum order quantities. The storefront shows "From £X" and a size picker.
When you sell the same item in a few sizes or packages, you don't need separate listings — add a price row per size. Our example: a woodworker's Reclaimed oak chopping board in three sizes.
The rule
In Pricing, one price is one row. Add a row for each size. With 2 or more rows the storefront shows "From £X" and gives the shopper a size picker.
1. Open the item and add rows
Create or edit the item as usual (name, description, photos, categories). In Pricing, use Add another price to build three rows. For each row you can set:
- Tier name (optional) — the size label shoppers pick.
- Description (optional) — a short note about that size.
- Price (required) — in pounds.
- Lead-time note (optional) — e.g. "Ready in 5–7 days".
- Minimum order (optional) — the smallest quantity for that size.
2. Fill in the three sizes
| Tier name | Description | Price | Lead-time note |
|---|---|---|---|
Small |
18 × 25 cm |
30.00 |
Ready in 5–7 days |
Medium |
25 × 35 cm |
50.00 |
Ready in 7–10 days |
Large |
30 × 45 cm |
75.00 |
Ready in 10–14 days |
Use the up/down controls to order the rows the way you want them shown. Each row shows its own "you keep" breakdown after fees.
3. Set fulfilment and publish
Set Fulfilment (e.g. Post only), leave Stock blank for made-to-order,
then set Listing status to Active and Save. Use Save & preview to
see it first.
What the shopper sees
The product card shows From £30.00. On the item page the shopper picks a size — Small £30 · Medium £50 · Large £75 — with your descriptions and lead-time notes beside each, then adds the chosen size to their basket.
When to use tiers vs a made-to-order product: use tiers when the choices are a fixed list of sizes/packages at set prices. If buyers also pick options that stack up (flavour, engraving, an uploaded photo), use a made-to-order product instead.
