Use your own domain
Serve your shop on your own web address (yourshop.com), un-branded — your storefront with none of the LocalFor.Me header or footer. Connect it with two DNS records.
You can put your shop on your own domain — yourshop.com instead of a
LocalFor.Me address — and it shows un-branded: your storefront, none of our
header or footer. Find it at Manage → Custom domain.
Custom domains are part of the paid Features add-on — the same plan as the Storage upgrade. You'll need an active subscription to connect a domain; if it lapses, your shop falls back to its LocalFor.Me address.
Browsing your shop happens on your domain; the basket, checkout and sign-in still happen securely on LocalFor.Me. Customers won't lose their place.
1. Connect the domain
Open Manage → Custom domain, type your domain (just yourshop.com — no
https://, no www.) and Connect. We'll show you two DNS records to add.
2. Add the DNS records
At whoever manages your domain (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, 123-reg…), add:
- TXT — proves the domain is yours. Name
_localforme-challenge.yourshop.com, value the token shown on the page. - A — points the domain at us. Name
@, value the IP address shown (or the one we send you).
3. Verify
Back on the page, click Verify. We check the TXT record and connect the domain. DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, so if it doesn't work first time, wait a little and try again.
Once it's verified and pointing at us, we set up the secure certificate (HTTPS) for you automatically — there's nothing else to do.
Removing it
Use Remove domain at any time. Your shop stays available on its normal LocalFor.Me address throughout.
