Creating an account

You can browse LocalFor.Me without signing in, but an account unlocks favourites, recommendations, saved items and checkout. To create one:

1. Click Sign up in the top-right of any page.
2. On the Create your account screen, enter your Email and choose a Password (you'll type it twice to confirm).
3. Click Sign up.

That's the whole form — email and a password. There is no separate username; your email address is your identity on LocalFor.Me.

Confirm your email

After signing up with email and password, we send you a confirmation message. Open it and click the link to verify your address. Until you do, you may be asked to confirm before some actions. The email arrives from hello@localfor.me, so check your spam folder if it doesn't appear.

Signing up or in with a social account

Instead of a password you can use a social login. On both the Sign up and Log in screens, look for the OR CONTINUE WITH divider and pick a provider:

• Google
• Facebook

Note: the buttons you see depend on what we've enabled. Google and Facebook are the providers surfaced on the sign-in screens; we also support Apple, Microsoft and GitHub behind the scenes. Social logins are handy because the provider has already verified your email, so there's no extra confirmation step.

If you first signed up with email and password and later click Google (or another provider) using the same email, we link the two automatically — you won't end up with two separate accounts.

Logging in

1. Click Log in in the top-right.
2. On the Welcome back screen, enter your Email and Password, then click Log in — or use a social button.
3. Tick Remember me on this device to stay signed in.

Forgotten your password? Click Forgot? next to the password field to reset it by email.

Shopper account vs. listing a business

A common question: do I need a separate account to list my business? No.

• Everyone starts as a shopper. That's the account you get when you sign up.
• To put a business on the directory, sign in and choose List a business (in the account menu, the footer, or via How verification works). Your business listing is attached to your existing account — you keep one login for everything.

So a "business account" isn't a different kind of account; it's a shopper account that has applied to list a business and been verified.

Logging out

Click your account avatar in the top-right to open the menu, then click Log out at the bottom. You'll be returned to the home page, and you can log back in any time with the same email.
